Hello! Welcome!

Growing Roots is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. What this means is basically we are “tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.” (www.irs.gov)

We are “an organization… organized and operated exclusively for exempt purposes set forth in section 501(c)(3), and none of its earnings may inure to any private shareholder or individual.” (www.irs.gov)

The mission of Growing Roots to see holistic transformation in the lives of the Haitian people through loving, lifetime relationships that serve and empower them.

To understand the vision of Growing Roots picture a seed. It is planted in the ground. It is nurtured with light, water, ground, and care. The seed sprouts. Roots begin to take hold to the ground. The roots grow. The bitty stem breaks ground. To be healthy the stem needs to be nurtured healthily and consistently. One day it sprouts a leaf. Then a bud. Then the bud blooms. For a lifetime, this plant needs to be nurtured in order to become the plant it is destined to become.

Growing Roots’ vision is founded on the verse of Ephesians 3:17: “I pray that from his glorious unlimited resources, he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.  The Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him.  Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.  And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.  May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully.  Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.”

We, Growing Roots, long to display His love to our Haitian and American family. To be His love in Haiti and in America, bridging the two people groups for a lifetime of change and transformation.
